1993 - ICP/MS Technology

In 1993 Actlabs acquired its first quadruple ICP/MS, a Perkin Elmer Sciex Elan 5000. In 1995 Actlabs retired the Elan 5000 when we acquired the first commercial Perkin Elmer Sciex Elan 6000 in the world and could see marked stability improvements in the new instrumentation. New methods for lithogeochemistry, hydrogeochemistry, trace element geochemistry, biogeochemistry followed quickly as did many more Elan 6000s as well as 6100 and 9000s ICP/MS instruments. Many new hybrid methodologies were created to link ICP/MS to the capabilities of ICP/OES and INAA.
