Sodium Peroxide

This fusion-sintering process uses sodium peroxide mixed with the sample in zirconia crucibles. The sample is sintered at 650 degrees C in a muffle furnace and then dissolved in a solution of 5% nitric acid. This will result in total metals. This method is not suitable if sodium is required. This method is ideal for assays for Cu, Pb, Zn, Co, Ni, Mo. As Fe, Mg, S, Ti, Mn, Sn, Bi, In,  Li as well as a few other elements.
