Orientation for New Clients to Actlabs
Filling out the Request for Analysis will provide all of the information required to process your samples. Instructions for report and invoice distribution should be included with each sample shipment. For convenience and to improve turnaround time, the Request for Analysis can be filled out on-line or can be printed to accompany your samples. If submitting on-line, make sure to include date of shipment, carrier of shipment (e.g. post, FedEx, DHL, etc.) and the waybill number so that we can track any delayed shipments. An accurate sample list can be sent as an e-mail attachment to email@example.com and will speed up order processing if submitting samples to Ancaster, Ontario, Canada. If submitting samples to another Actlabs facility, please email the excel file and request form to that locations email address. Poorly labeled or packaged samples, or samples having incomplete or no submission sheets may not be processed until adequate written instructions are received from the client. Additional sorting charges will be incurred.
If you need to ensure proper chain-of-custody documentation, use our Chain-of-Custody Record instead of the Request for Analysis and submit the completed form with your samples.

For most efficient delivery, we recommend the use of couriers, e.g., Fedex, Purolator, TNT, DHL, UPS. If using Bus Parcel Express, the bus station of destination is Hamilton, Ontario.
If submitting samples to a different Actlabs facility, the shipping address can be found on that country's respective page.
All soils and/or vegetation samples from outside Canada being sent to Canada for analysis should be sent to our main lab at 41 Bittern St.
Turnaround time will be improved by packing samples neatly in order in shipping containers and by providing an accurate list of all sample numbers, preferably with a hard copy or by e-mail. Please ensure all samples are clearly identified with sample numbers. This can be accomplished with waterproof ink on the sample bags or with sample tags in the sample bags. Poorly labeled or packaged samples, or samples having incomplete or no submission sheets may not be processed until adequate written instructions are received from the client. Additional sorting charges will be incurred.
If using pop top vials or glass bottles ensure that they are taped shut and protected from breakage. Sealed plastic bags are best for shipping pulps.
Complimentary shipping labels are available upon request. Heavy duty plastic sample bags, cloth sample bags, soil envelopes and sample books are available at cost.
